Put another way, risk management is the practice of managing the resources of the operation in such a way as to maintain an acceptable level of risk.

An evaluation of tradeoffs between changes in risk, expected returns, and entrepreneurial freedom is required by everyone involved in the operation of the business. 

This in turn should generate a corresponding level of return from those resources that will allow the goals of the operation and family members to be achieved.
